5 Secret Hacks for the Utopia of the Seas
1. Escape the Crowds on the "Secret" Sun Decks
Oasis-class ships are massive, and finding a quiet spot can be tough on sea days. But there are hidden public balconies that most cruisers never find. Head to the front of the ship on Deck 14, walk down the port-side hallway past the staterooms, and you will find an unmarked door leading out to the bridge wings. It offers spectacular, completely unobstructed ocean views and is almost always empty. There is also a great, quiet spot to relax on the running track at the very aft of the ship.
2. The Boardwalk Balcony Noise Warning
If your readers are booking a neighborhood balcony, advise them to choose carefully. Boardwalk balconies offer fantastic partial views of the nightly AquaTheater shows, but that also means you will hear the show and the crowds every night. If they prefer a quiet retreat when the sun goes down, recommend they book a Central Park balcony instead.
3. Do Not Be Late for the Royal Railway
The highly anticipated Royal Railway - Utopia Station is an immersive, multi-sensory dining experience designed to feel like a classic train journey. Because the digital "scenery" passing by the windows and the storyline are perfectly timed to the meal, the train "departs" right on schedule. If you arrive late, you will be denied entry and miss the experience entirely, so plan to arrive at least 15 minutes early.
4. The Ultimate Teen Zone: Deck 16 Aft
If you or your readers are cruising with a 13-year-old or young teenager, the ship is built for them to explore independently. Skip the crowded main pools and point them to Deck 16 aft. They can bounce between the FlowRider surf simulator, the 10-story Ultimate Abyss dry slide, and the Wipe Out Bar area. The Social100 teen club is also an incredible space for them to hang out and meet friends without feeling like they are in a traditional "kid's club."
5. Utilize the New Poolside Food Truck
You don't need to dry off and head to the Windjammer buffet for lunch. Utopia of the Seas introduced The Spare Tire, a brand-new, complimentary food truck located right on the pool deck.
It serves grab-and-go bites like pulled pork sandwiches and cheeseburger flatbreads, meaning you never have to give up your prime lounger to grab a snack.
