Resilient Lady

The Ultimate Guide to the Resilient Lady: Virgin Voyages’ Premium Adults-Only Cruise

If you are looking to redefine your vacation experience at sea, the Resilient Lady by Virgin Voyages is your ticket to a modern, luxurious getaway. Launched in 2023 as the third ship in the acclaimed "Lady Class" fleet, this spectacular vessel ditches traditional cruising cliches in favor of a superyacht-inspired, 18+ adults-only adventure.

Whether you want to sail the sun-drenched Greek Isles, explore the stunning coastlines of Australia, or relax in the Caribbean, here is everything you need to know about setting sail on the Resilient Lady.

What is Included in Your Resilient Lady Booking?

One of the biggest selling points of Virgin Voyages is their "Always Included Luxury" pricing model. Unlike traditional cruise lines that nickel-and-dime you once on board, your Resilient Lady fare includes:

  • All dining at 20+ eateries

  • Essential drinks (filtered water, non-pressed juices, sodas, teas, and coffee)

  • Unlimited Wi-Fi

  • Gratuities and tips

  • Group fitness classes (yoga, spinning, HIIT)

The "No Drink Package" Rule (Welcome to the Bar Tab)

If you are used to buying a $100-a-day unlimited drink package on other cruise lines, you need to know that Virgin Voyages does things differently. They do not offer traditional all-inclusive alcohol packages. Instead, they use a Bar Tab system.

How it works:

  • You preload a specific amount of money onto your "Bar Tab" before you sail.

  • Virgin Voyages often adds a bonus to your tab (for example, if you buy a $300 tab, they might add an extra $50 for free).

  • Drinks are priced reasonably, similar to a land-based bar (think $7-$9 for a beer, $10-$15 for a cocktail).

  • Because gratuities are already included in your cruise fare, there is no surprise 20% tip added to your drink bill every time you order.

Scarlet Night: The Ultimate Party at Sea

You cannot write about the Resilient Lady without mentioning Scarlet Night. This is the marquee event of every Virgin Voyage, and it takes over the entire ship.

Conceived by award-winning theater producers, Scarlet Night is part immersive theater, part massive pool party. The ship is bathed in red light, pop-up circus performances happen in the hallways, and the entire night culminates in a massive, high-energy dance party on the pool deck.

  • The Dress Code: Everyone is encouraged to pack an outfit with a splash of red. Some people go all out in red sequin gowns, while others keep it simple with a red t-shirt or accessory.

  • The Vibe: It is inclusive, wildly energetic, and feels more like a private music festival than a traditional cruise ship deck party.

Here are some of the best insider tips and "secret" features of the Resilient Lady.

  • The Secret Menus & Hidden Dishes

  • The Razzle Dazzle "Secret Burger": Razzle Dazzle is billed as a vegetarian-forward restaurant, but you can quietly ask your server for the off-menu smash burger, topped with blue cheese and a tangy slaw. (This recently replaced their older "secret steak" offering). They also have a hidden Curry Butter Chicken dish that is highly praised.

  • Late-Night Duck Ramen: At The Galley (the onboard food hall), Noodle Around often serves an unadvertised duck ramen after 10:00 PM to cure midnight cravings.

  • The Galley "Pop-Ups": Keep an eye out for unannounced daily specials in The Galley. Legendary dishes like Beef Wellington, chateaubriand, and fresh paella will occasionally appear for a limited time at lunch.

  • Beating the Crowds & Finding the Best Views

  • The Deck 17 Sanctuary: Most passengers flock immediately to the main Aquatic Club pool deck, which gets incredibly crowded on sea days. Instead, head up to The Perch on Deck 17 (or the aft of Deck 16). You will find plenty of sunbeds and deck chairs without the loud party vibe.

  • The Ultimate Ship Spotting Vantage Point: For the absolute best unobstructed views of port operations and neighboring vessels, grab a quiet spot at the aft of The Dock on Deck 7. You can watch the pilot boats, the wake, and port traffic while eating Mediterranean mezze.

  • Cinematic Empty Shots: If you are filming a ship tour or capturing B-roll, hit the famous mirrored starry-night entryway of The Manor right at 6:00 AM. You will get completely empty, perfectly lit shots before the rest of the ship wakes up.

  • Booking Hacks

  • The Midnight Dining Dash: Dining reservations open exactly 45 days before the voyage (60 days for RockStar suites). The catch? They open at midnight Eastern Time. Set an alarm, because prime dining times for Pink Agave and Gunbae will be gone by morning.

  • Terminal Wi-Fi Trick: If you miss out on pre-booking, don't panic. Virgin Voyages holds back a significant portion of dining slots specifically for onboard booking. As soon as you arrive at the port terminal, connect to the ship's Wi-Fi (it reaches the waiting area) and immediately book your reservations through the app before you even step foot on the ship.

  • Dine at the Bar: If you fail to snag a reservation for Extra Virgin (the incredibly popular Italian restaurant), you can walk up and eat a full dinner right at the bar.

  • Entertainment Secrets

  • "Opa Hour" at The Dock: Every afternoon, head to the aft of the ship at The Dock for a complimentary Mediterranean mezze hour featuring fresh Greek appetizers, grilled shrimp, and falafel brought right to your daybed.

  • Scarlet Night Micro-Parties: The real magic of Scarlet Night happens in the hours leading up to the main pool party. Wander the stairwells, the Roundabout, and the hallways—the Happenings Cast hosts tiny, unannounced pop-up performances, games, and secret cabarets that most passengers completely miss.
