Getting to the Port

PortMiami is well-connected to South Florida’s major transit hubs. The official address for GPS navigation is 1015 North America Way, Miami, FL 33132.

  • Distance: Approximately 8 miles.

  • Travel Time: 15 to 20 minutes, depending on traffic.

  • Best Options: Rideshare apps (Uber/Lyft) typically cost around $20, while a standard flat-rate taxi runs about $27.

From Miami International Airport (MIA)

  • Distance: Approximately 25 miles.

  • Travel Time: 45 to 60 minutes.

  • Best Options: Rideshares cost roughly $45 to $50, and taxis charge a flat rate of around $75. Cruise line shuttle transfers are also available, though they only run on the day of embarkation.

From Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport (FLL)

  • If you are driving, access roads connect directly to Interstate 95, I-395, and the PortMiami Tunnel—a dedicated toll-free tunnel that bypasses downtown traffic.

  • Convenient, secure parking is available on-site at each cruise terminal. The port offers both parking garages and flat lots, with designated spaces for oversized vehicles and accessible parking for travelers with disabilities.

Driving and Parking

  • Arrive a Day Early: South Florida weather and flight delays can be unpredictable. Flying in at least one day before your cruise departs severely reduces travel stress and gives you time to enjoy the city.

  • Explore Bayside Marketplace: If you arrive at the port early and have time to kill before boarding, Bayside Marketplace is just across the causeway. It’s an open-air shopping and dining district with fantastic views of the water.

  • Leverage Luggage Drop-off: Most terminals allow you to hand off your heavy luggage to porters curbside as early as 9:00 AM on embarkation day. Drop your bags, tip your porter, and explore Miami hands-free until your scheduled boarding time.

  • Free Wi-Fi: All passenger terminals inside PortMiami offer complimentary Wi-Fi, making it easy to download your cruise line's app or send a few final messages before setting sail.
