MSC World Asia is MSC Cruises' newest flagship, the third World Class ship at around 216,000 gross tons and up to roughly 6,760 guests. She debuts on 4 December 2026 with 7-night Western Mediterranean sailings from Barcelona, then moves to the Southern Caribbean for winter 2027–28. Headline extras: a ship-exclusive Pan-Asian street food venue and the longest dry slide at sea.

Are tips included on MSC World Asia?
No – MSC adds a daily hotel service charge to your onboard account. For Mediterranean sailings it's €12 per adult per night in standard cabins and €16 per adult per night in the Yacht Club, with a reduced rate for children (no charge for under-2s). For US-dollar Caribbean sailings it's US$17 per night (standard) and US$23 (Yacht Club) for bookings from 11 May 2026. UK-market bookings can differ – your booking confirmation shows what applies. Which drinks packages can you buy?
In the Med you can choose the Easy package (Europe only) or the Premium Extra package, plus Alcohol-Free and Minors packages. The old Easy Plus package was withdrawn on 1 August 2025. On the Caribbean season, expect Premium Extra rather than Easy. Package prices include the service charge; drinks bought one at a time carry a percentage service charge on top.
Is MSC World Asia Adults Only or Family Friendly?
She's very much a family ship. The Harbour park, the Clubhouse with bumper cars and a LEGO Family Zone, the Doremi kids' clubs and seven pools are all built with families in mind. Couples who want quiet should look at the Yacht Club, the indoor Coral Cove pool or the adult-leaning bars on the promenade.
What Makes MSC World Asia Different?
Asia-inspired design across seven districts
Like World Europa and World America, she's laid out in seven themed districts, but with subtle design touches drawn from Asian art, culture and landscapes. The centrepiece is a stainless-steel dragon sculpture suspended 10 metres above the open-air World Promenade.
The Spiral @ Tree of Life – the longest dry slide at sea
An 81.3-metre dry slide that starts from a new Asian pagoda and drops you down 12 decks in seconds. It's the longest on any cruise ship.
The Cliffhanger and the revamped Harbour
The Harbour is an outdoor family park with an Asian-inspired redesign: the Cliffhanger over-water swing (more than 50 metres above the sea), a high ropes course, a small water park and a new, quieter Play Deck.
Aqua Deck: Manila Bay and Coral Cove
The main outdoor pool is Manila Bay, with the Pearl Lagoon Bar beside it. Coral Cove is an indoor pool under a retractable glass roof, with a water-droplet sculpture by artist Elisabetta Milan – handy on a cool December Med sailing.
The Clubhouse
A new 1980s/90s-style indoor family zone with bumper cars, roller skating, basketball, classic table games, a Soda Bar and a LEGO Family Zone.

Our tip: promenade-view balconies are cheaper than sea-view ones but sit above the ship's busiest space – parades, music and light shows. If you're a light sleeper, pay the extra for a sea-facing balcony.

Gala Nights and the White Party: What to Wear
On a 7-night MSC sailing, plan for at least one gala evening – think cocktail dress, or a jacket and smart trousers (a tux is welcome, not required). MSC ships usually host a White Party too, so pack something white. Both are optional: you can skip the dress-up and eat at the buffet.

Embark where it suits you. Every Med port on the loop is an embarkation port, so compare flights into Barcelona, Marseille, Genoa or Rome rather than defaulting to Barcelona.

Winter Med means cooler days. December to March sea days can be breezy – Coral Cove's retractable roof will be the busiest spot on board.

Bella means a guarantee cabin. If location matters (away from the promenade, near lifts), pay for Fantastica so you can pick.

Caribbean season from the UK: Barbados has direct UK flights; Martinique and Guadeloupe are French, use the euro and are easiest via Paris.

Easy package is Europe only – budget for Premium Extra if you're booking the Caribbean season.
