The 2026 Royal Amplified Makeover: What's New?
The 2026 dry dock was far more than a simple coat of paint. Royal Caribbean stripped out underutilized spaces to install high-demand venues, completely shifting the vibe of the ship to a modern, resort-style atmosphere.
1. A Reimagined, Caribbean-Style Pool Deck
The pool deck on Decks 11 and 12 received a massive overhaul. The traditional pool bars were replaced by The Lime & Coconut, a multi-level signature venue serving up tropical cocktails amid vibrant island aesthetics. The deck also added private shaded casitas, new whirlpools, and cozy daybeds for a premium lounge experience.
2. Upgraded Specialty and Casual Dining
Liberty of the Seas expanded its culinary footprint to fifteen distinct dining venues by replacing older concepts with fleet favorites:
-
Izumi Teppanyaki: Taking the place of Sabor Modern Mexican, this crowd-favorite brings live hibachi cooking shows and premium sushi to the ship.
-
El Loco Fresh & Cantina Fresca: Replacing the Squeeze Juice Bar, this complimentary walk-up spot serves fresh burritos, tacos, and quesadillas alongside an outdoor tequila bar.
-
Starbucks®: A standalone licensed Starbucks kiosk was added to the heart of the ship, taking over the former Boleros space to serve premium espresso beverages and pastries.
3. Next-Level Onboard Thrills & Nightlife
-
The Royal Escape Room: Replacing the old Connoisseur Club on Deck 5, this high-tech puzzle room challenges teams to crack clues and unravel a masterfully designed mystery before the clock runs out.
-
Expanded Casino Royale: To satisfy gaming enthusiasts, the onboard casino absorbed the old Photo Gallery space, adding dozens of new slot machines and expanded table game options.
4. Fresh Accommodations
To accommodate more guests, Royal Caribbean added over a hundred new staterooms during the 2026 dry dock. This was achieved by repurposing and optimizing spaces previously used for the conference centers, card rooms, and downsized sections of the Adventure Ocean youth facilities and Vitality Spa.

A Closer Look at the Upgrades
The Food & Beverage Overhaul
The transition from Sabor to Izumi Teppanyaki brings dinner-and-a-show to Liberty of the Seas. Master chefs cook tiger shrimp, NY strip steak, and fried rice right in front of guests on flaming hibachi grills. For casual dining, El Loco Fresh is the new ultimate pool-day pit stop, offering complimentary grab-and-go burritos, nachos, and quesadillas just steps from the water.
Modernized Tech and Cabins
Behind the scenes, the 2026 dry dock brought Liberty of the Seas up to the tech standards of Royal Caribbean's newest ships. This includes ship-wide Starlink high-speed internet, allowing guests to stream and video call seamlessly from the middle of the ocean. Furthermore, all cabin doors were upgraded to NFC contactless locks, allowing guests to open their rooms using the Royal Caribbean app on their smartphones.
The Ultimate Pool Deck
The introduction of The Lime & Coconut signature bar completely changes the energy of the upper decks. Spanning multiple levels, it brings a vibrant, Caribbean beach club atmosphere with signature cocktails (like the Watermelon 'Rita), live music, and colorful shaded casitas. This pairs perfectly with the ship's existing heavy-hitting water attractions: the Tidal Wave boomerang slide, The Perfect Storm dueling waterslides, and the FlowRider surf simulator.
