A First-of-its-Kind Theme: Heroes and Villains
For the first time in Disney Cruise Line history, a ship is dedicated entirely to the duality of heroes and villains. As you explore the decks, you'll encounter legendary characters from Disney Animation, Pixar, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
The ship’s bow features a triumphant "Hero Minnie" leading the way, while the stern breaks tradition: instead of a classic Disney character, Marvel’s Spider-Man and his Spider-Bots are suspended from the back of the ship. Inside, the Grand Hall (the ship's central atrium) is inspired by the vibrant nation of Wakanda, complete with a stunning statue of Black Panther.
Throughout your cruise, expect to cross paths with heroic figures like Hercules and Tiana, as well as notorious villains including Maleficent, Cruella de Vil, Loki, and Captain Jack Sparrow.
Innovative Dining: Disney Destiny Restaurants
Disney operates on a "Rotational Dining" system, meaning you and your dedicated waitstaff rotate through three main dining rooms during your voyage. The Disney Destiny introduces brand-new culinary experiences alongside returning fan favorites.
Main Rotational Dining
-
Pride Lands: Feast of the Lion King (New!): A first-of-its-kind venue where you dine to a live musical tribute to The Lion King. The menu features African-inspired cuisine while singers and musicians perform iconic songs from the film right in the center of the restaurant.
-
Worlds of Marvel: Returning from previous Wish-class ships, this interactive dining experience puts you in the center of an Avengers mission. On the Destiny, guests are treated to a new show—Marvel Celebration of Heroes: Groot Remix—hosted by Rocket and Groot.
-
1923: Named after the year the Walt Disney Company was founded, this elegant, dual-sided restaurant (Walt and Roy) serves California-inspired cuisine surrounded by storyboards and props from classic Disney animation.
When you want a quick bite between deck parties and pool time, the Marceline Market food hall offers a massive variety of international and American buffet options. On the upper decks, the Mickey & Friends Festival of Foods provides quick-service staples like BBQ, tacos, burgers, and pizza.
For a sugar rush, head to Edna Á La Mode Sweets. Inspired by the eccentric fashion designer from The Incredibles, this dessert lab serves handmade gelato, Incredibles-themed cupcakes, and gourmet popsicles.
Exclusive Adult-Only Bars and Lounges
While the kids are busy in Disney’s Oceaneer Club, adults have an incredible lineup of 18+ lounges and fine-dining venues to explore.
-
The Sanctum: Disney’s first-ever lounge inspired by Doctor Strange. Look closely at the mysterious curios around the room to spot the Cloak of Levitation and mystical light shields while sipping on multiverse-themed cocktails.
-
De Vil's: A lavish, high-fashion piano bar inspired by Cruella de Vil. It’s the perfect spot for a post-dinner martini enveloped in red, black, and white luxury.
-
Cask & Cannon: A swashbuckling pub paying homage to the Pirates of the Caribbean theme park attraction. Enjoy rare vintage rums and "bootlegged" brews served straight from the barrel.
-
The Haunted Mansion Parlor: Returning after its wildly popular debut on the Disney Treasure, this spooky speakeasy features a ghost-filled mirror, hitchhiking ghosts, and an exclusive menu of eerie cocktails.
If you are looking for an upscale, kid-free meal, the ship also features Palo Steakhouse (Italian fare and premium steaks in a Beauty and the Beast Cogsworth-themed setting) and Enchanté (a three-Michelin-star-crafted French menu inspired by Lumiere).
Entertainment & Activities
The Disney Destiny is packed with entertainment for all ages, centered around the Heroes and Villains motif.
The AquaMouse Water Ride
Disney’s signature "attraction at sea" gets a brand-new storyline for the Destiny. Titled Sing a Silly Song, the AquaMouse takes riders on a water-coaster trek to Villain Mountain. As you splash through the enclosed tubes, you'll watch Mickey and Minnie encounter fearsome villains like the Queen of Hearts and Chernabog in hilarious, lighthearted situations.
Stage Shows
The lavish Walt Disney Theatre hosts Broadway-caliber productions every night. Headlining the Destiny is an all-new original production of Disney Hercules, featuring giant, mythological puppets and the Muses singing your favorite gospel-infused pop hits. You can also catch Frozen, A Musical Spectacular and the welcoming Disney Seas the Adventure show.
Here are the absolute best insider secrets and hidden details for the Disney Destiny.
1. The Secret Club 33 Menu at The Sanctum
The Doctor Strange-themed lounge, The Sanctum, holds one of the best-kept secrets on the ship. When you are handed the digital iPad drink menu, don't just browse the standard options.
The Secret: If you trace the number "33" directly onto the iPad screen, you will unlock a hidden menu of exclusive cocktails inspired by Disney's legendary, private Club 33. This unlocks rare drinks like the Ocean Liner—a vibrant blue, citrus-forward cocktail that isn't listed anywhere else.
2. Use the Carpets as Your Ship Compass
Wish-class ships are massive, and it is incredibly easy to lose your sense of direction in the long stateroom corridors. Thankfully, the Imagineers hid a brilliant navigation tool right beneath your feet.
Look down at the custom carpeting in the hallways. You will notice geometric patterns featuring Mickey Mouse silhouettes and sharp lightning bolts (a nod to the villain theme). Wherever Mickey or the lightning bolts are pointing is always the front (bow) of the ship. If you walk opposite the direction they are pointing, you are heading aft.
3. The 10-Guest Pop-Up Shows (Arrive Early!)
On the Disney Destiny, entertainment isn't confined to the main theater. Characters drop into smaller lounges for immersive, interactive experiences. However, some of these are intentionally tiny.
Events like Dr. Facilier’s Parlor (hosted in the Saga lounge) are strictly limited to just 10 guests at a time to keep the performance intimate. Because these spaces are so small, you need to tell your readers to line up at least 45 to 60 minutes before the scheduled time if they want to guarantee a spot.
4. Hook’s Barbery is a Hidden Bourbon Speakeasy
On the surface, Hook’s Barbery is a high-end, vintage-themed spot where adults can get a straight-razor shave or a haircut. But it pulling double duty.
Tucked discreetly inside the venue is a hidden bar boasting one of the finest premium bourbon and whiskey collections at sea. While someone gets a trim, you can sit back and order ultra-rare pours—including Pappy Van Winkle and WhistlePig’s The Boss Hog—that you cannot find at the standard deck bars.
5. The "Forward vs. Aft" Staircase Art Trick
If the carpet trick isn't enough, the artwork in the main stairwells will tell you exactly where you are on the ship. Imagineers split the art budget directly down the middle to match the "Heroes and Villains" theme:
-
The Forward Stairs: Dedicated entirely to Disney Villains. The art pieces feature angular shapes, darker tones, and deep greens, purples, and reds.
-
The Aft Stairs: Dedicated entirely to Disney Heroes. The style shifts completely to soft curves, airy layouts, and bright blues and golds.
