Winter 2026–27 – Southampton (October 2026 to 16 April 2027)
-
7-night round trips from Southampton calling at Hamburg, Rotterdam, Zeebrugge (for Bruges) and Le Havre (for Paris), with some sailings swapping in Cherbourg or Amsterdam.
-
You can also join the same loop in Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre or Zeebrugge.
-
Festive sailings include a 6-night pre-Christmas trip from 18 December and an 8-night Christmas and New Year cruise from 24 December 2026.
-
November and December sailings are ideal for German and Belgian Christmas markets – Hamburg's are some of the best in Europe.
-
Preziosa replaced MSC Poesia as MSC's winter ship from Southampton.
Summer 2027 – Hamburg
-
7 to 14-night cruises to Norway, the British Isles, Iceland, the Baltic and the North Cape.
-
Two 14-night Svalbard (Spitsbergen) and North Cape voyages are scheduled each year in 2027 and 2028 – rare for a ship this size.
Winter 2027–28
-
Western Europe loop again (Hamburg, Rotterdam, Le Havre, Zeebrugge and Southampton calls). Check MSC for whether Southampton is a full homeport again.

Are tips included on MSC Preziosa?
If you book in the UK, yes – the hotel service charge is built into your fare. If you book in another European market it is added on board per night, typically around €12 per adult (€16 in the Yacht Club) and half that for children aged 2–12, though rates vary by market, so check your booking. An extra service charge (around 15–18%) applies to drinks and drinks packages. See our 2026 cruise gratuities guide.
Which drinks packages can you buy?
On European sailings MSC currently sells the Easy package (house wine, draught beer, selected spirits and cocktails, soft drinks – not valid in speciality restaurants) and the Premium Extra package (almost everything up to around £14 per drink, including speciality restaurants). The mid-tier Easy Plus package was withdrawn in 2025. Packages are usually cheapest when bought before you sail.
Is MSC Preziosa Family Friendly?
Yes – very. She has kids' clubs for every age from babies to 17, SuperFamily connecting cabins, a waterpark, the Vertigo slide, bowling and a 4D cinema. School holiday and Christmas sailings are busy with families; term-time winter sailings are noticeably quieter. Adults who want peace can head to the Aurea sundeck (Aurea guests) or the Yacht Club.

What Makes MSC Preziosa Different?
The Swarovski crystal staircases
The atrium's sweeping staircases are set with real Swarovski crystals and are the ship's most photographed spot – expect a queue on dressy evenings. [OUR TIP: best time for a photo without crowds.]
MSC Yacht Club: a ship within a ship
A key-card-only enclave at the front of the ship with suites, 24-hour butler service, a private lounge, its own pool deck and Le Palmeraie, the Yacht Club's exclusive restaurant.
Vertigo waterslide
One of MSC's longest single-rider body slides, with a see-through section that swings out over the side of the ship.
The infinity pool and La Playa
The stern infinity pool looks out over the wake – one of the best quiet spots on board – and the main pool area can be covered by a sliding roof, which matters on a winter North Sea cruise.
She was nearly a Libyan ship
Preziosa was ordered by a Libyan company; when the 2011 civil war broke out the shipyard cancelled the contract and MSC bought the hull, which is why she differs slightly from her three sisters.
MSC Preziosa Cabins and Suites

MSC White Night: What to Wear and When
MSC's signature party is White Night – a deck party with music and dancing where guests dress in white.
-
What to wear: anything white – a white shirt and chinos or a white dress is plenty. Pack a layer: on a winter sailing from Southampton the party may move indoors.
-
Gala nights: expect one or two gala (dressy) evenings on a 7-night cruise. Smart dress or a suit is ideal; black tie is optional.
-
Tip: the atrium staircase gets busiest for photos on gala nights – go before dinner.
MSC Preziosa Insider Tips
-
Book from the UK if you can – gratuities are included, which can save a family over £300 a week compared with some markets.
-
Embarking in Southampton? Arrive on time rather than early; boarding often bunches with returning guests.
-
Hamburg day is long – often 7am to 8pm – so it's the best port for a Christmas market or the Miniatur Wunderland.
-
Le Havre is about two hours from Paris – book a ship tour or a reliable transfer so you're back in time.
-
WiFi is paid – buy a package before you sail for the best price.
