Celebrity Solstice Insider Tips & Hidden Gems
1. The Sunset Park Cabana "Suite Class" Hack
Normally, dining at Luminae or ordering their famous, highly coveted Luminae Burger is strictly restricted to top-tier suite guests staying in The Retreat. However, there is a brilliant workaround: if you rent one of the newly added private cabanas at Sunset Park (Deck 15) for the day, your cabana package grants you access to a curated menu that includes that exclusive Luminae burger. It is the ultimate way to enjoy a taste of suite-class luxury without paying for a full suite upgrade.
As you look at the layout of the newly revamped deck space above, notice how the cabanas are positioned directly along the edge. Booking one of these gives you front-row ocean views alongside a dedicated attendant to bring you drinks and food all day long from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM.
2. Beat the Buffet Crowds at the AquaSpa Café
The morning rush at the Oceanview Café buffet can get incredibly hectic, especially on port days. For a peaceful, crowd-free alternative, head to the adults-only Solarium on Deck 12 and grab breakfast or lunch at the AquaSpa Café. It features a 100% complimentary, health-conscious menu. You can fill up on fresh parfaits, custom-made smoothies, small-plate salads, and poached salmon without fighting for a table.
3. The "Free" Pastry Trick at Café al Bacio
Café al Bacio on Deck 5 is incredibly popular for its specialty espresso drinks, lattes, and premium teas, which carry an extra a la carte cost (unless you have a beverage package). However, what many first-time cruisers don't realize is that all the artisanal pastries, cookies, cakes, and elegant tarts in the glass display case are completely free. You can walk up, order a plate of premium treats, and sit down without spending a dime.
4. Master the Martini Bar Timing
The circular, ice-topped Martini Bar on Deck 4 is the undisputed energetic heartbeat of the ship’s evening scene. The bartenders here put on an incredible, high-energy "flair show"—stacking glasses, throwing cocktail shakers, and doing synchronized multi-bottle pours.
Because it is so popular, grabbing a bar stool can feel next to impossible once the night gets going. The insider secret is to lurk around the bar exactly 15 to 20 minutes before the main dining room seatings change (around 5:45 PM and 7:45 PM). As guests get up to head down to dinner, seats open up all at once, giving you front-row seats to the show before the next wave of crowds arrives.
5. Find the Uncrowded Panoramic Views
The aft-facing Sunset Bar on Deck 15 is the go-to spot for sailaway drinks, but it gets packed shoulder-to-shoulder. If you want a wide-open, uncrowded view of the scenery as the ship leaves port:
-
For forward-facing views: Head to the Sky Observation Lounge on Deck 14 during the day. It has massive floor-to-ceiling windows and plenty of plush, quiet seating that is perfect for scenic sailing (especially in places like Alaska or the South Pacific).
-
For side-deck strolls: The walking track on Deck 15 has wide bump-outs on the port and starboard sides that feature massive oversized lounge chairs, offering spectacular, quiet vantage points.
6. Main Dining Room: Two Decks, Two Styles
The gorgeous, grand Main Dining Room spans across Decks 3 and 4, but they operate completely differently. Deck 3 is reserved for Traditional Dining (fixed seating times at 6:00 PM or 8:30 PM with the exact same table and wait staff each night). Deck 4 is for Celebrity Select Dining (flexible timing where you eat whenever you like). If you choose Select Dining, make your evening reservations via the Celebrity app before your cruise to avoid long wait lines at the host stand during the peak 7:00 PM to 8:15 PM rush.
